The Iraqi Government has authorised the development of a 750 MW solar power project which will be built by the Chinese state-owned conglomerate Power Construction Corp of China (Power China) in the Al Muthanna Governorate (southern Iraq). The project, which will developed in two phases (250 MW for the first phase), will require an investment of US$520m.
